A bantamweight matchup between Mario Bautista and Vinicius Oliveira is slated to headline a UFC Fight Night event on Feb. 7 at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas.
The organization officially announced the headline bout Saturday night during the UFC Fight Night: Royval vs. Kape broadcast following an initial report from Ag. Fight that the matchup was in the works.
Bautista had an eight-fight winning streak snapped in October after losing a decision to Umar Nurmagomedov at UFC 321. The 32-year-old who trains out of the MMA Lab in Arizona is 10-3 in the UFC overall with notable wins over former Bellator MMA titleholder Patchy Mix and former UFC champion Jose Aldo.
Oliveira, meanwhile, is 4-0 in the UFC and has won six in a row overall. The 30-year-old from Brazil is coming off decision wins over Ricky Simon, Said Nurmagomedov and most recently Kyler Phillips at UFC 318 in July.
This will be the first UFC main event spot for both 135-pound athletes. Bautista is the No. 9-ranked contender in the bantamweight division. Oliveira has risen to No. 12.
A middleweight matchup between knockout artists Marc-Andre Barriault and Michal Oleksiejczuk is also scheduled to take place at the event.
